Ruins at Cong Abbey

A shot from Ireland of the Cong Abbey ruins. Cong Abbey was absolutely beautiful and Sarah and I had the place all to ourselves (are you sensing a theme?). It was a little chilly that day and we stopped at a cafe called The Hungry Monk, where we had the best meal of the trip. I had a giant cappuccino  and a sandwich with fresh Irish goat cheese, tomatoes and an onion marmalade on a crunchy baguette. Sarah had lox and herbal tea. We barely spoke the whole meal we were so busy reveling in the deliciousness of the food, the coziness of the place and the conversations of those around us. From there we explored the ruins, seeing perhaps two people the whole time as we traipsed around the quiet place and the path through the woods behind it.
