I am very fortunate that I have yet to lose someone very close to me in life. I'm sincerely dreading the day, and pessimistic as it may be, awaiting it. My best friend since I was 3, who moved away at 10 and we lost tough shortly, then have in the past few years rekindled an amazing friendship, heads off to Afghanistan in November. He graduated top of his West Point class 2 years ago and will be flying Black Hawks during his deployment doing recon missions. You can imagine my fear beginning to mentally manifest itself.
