Antelope Island

We camped on Antelope Island in the middle of the Great Salt Lake. It was one of the more surreal places I’ve seen in my life, all rock formations set against distant mountains dwarfed by crisp sky.

When the sun went down, I took approximately 800 pictures before realizing that the kind of beauty I was witnessing just couldn’t be captured – no matter how good I get, there will never be a way to truly bottle golden light.

So I put my camera down and sat on the beach and watched the light turn burnt orange then fire red then the deepest blue before climbing back up the hill to curl up with my love and invent new constellations as the stars exploded in the sky.
