This moment, this election

I got chills and I cried and then I got chills again. It feels dangerous to want something this much, to want it so much when it’s completely out of my control. It’s not just him, though of course I drank the kool-aid early and have never looked back. It’s that he’s asking us to take responsibility for ourselves and also for each other, to step up and engage. A call to arms, to defend progressive principles, to take back and redefine what it means to be a capitol-D Democrat.

Tonight Steve and I high-fived through his speech and at one point I looked at him and said remember this…someday we’ll tell this story to our grandchildren.
