So we’ve been menu-planning the past few weeks, to help with the classic 7pm what do you want for dinner, I don’t know, what do you want for dinner dance. With our bounty of fresh produce, side dishes come together easily, but we found ourselves making the same ten entrees over and over. Having the entrees planned out has helped tremendously, and I made this chalkboard as a handy, pretty place in the kitchen to keep track of what dishes we have ingredients for. Now we scan the list to decide what we’re having and cross them off once they’ve been made.
I made the chalkboard by sawing up some plywood I had leftover from another project, painting it with chalkboard paint, and finished it by painting the simple white design on top. I attached a piece of yellow chalk to a washer and hung it next to the board on clear string. You can see it just barely touching my apron pocket!
