Sometimes creativity doesn’t come easily because life plain old gets in the way. I’m busy trying to finish up our wedding website (which someone of course decided she had to make herself) and about a million other things…you know how it goes. And then the things I want to do get pushed far, far behind the things that must! be! done! and I wind up feeling sapped with nothing left to offer.

In these moments, I usually cut myself some slack and acknowledge that there are only so many hours in the day. But sometimes, it’s better for me to let go of the dishes in the sink and the laundry in the hamper and show up for some creative work instead. It’s what I love, what fills up my tank, which should be enough to bump it above vacuuming, no?
