Sushi Night

One of our favorite dinners to do when we have people over is roll your own sushi night. It’s so much easier than you would think — nori sheets, sticky rice in the rice maker, a quick simple syrup of sugar and rice vinegar, cut veggies and cream cheese. When we’re feeling fancy, we’ll also tempura some fresh green beans and asparagus.

Then we lay it all out on a platter and everyone gets to choose their own ingredients, roll some up themselves and eat it with soy sauce mixed with wasabi. Yum!

Next time maybe I’ll manage to get a shot of the actual sushi, but alas, I always seem to get too distracted by shoveling it directly into my face to bother picking up a camera.
