I told Mom and Dad today that you put a picture of their mailbox on your blog and in your portfolio. They thought that was funny.

Oh how I loved this post! It just makes my heart sing. But then I am not at all surprised that you find value in things not of your generation; your spirit is of many generations. It's just so refreshing when I feel many people are missing so much that went before them and couldn't care less. I wonder if I casually dismissed things my own mother told me. Actually, probably not much. I recently just re-read her letters that she sent from New York when she was at Columbia. But I digressed.... Now you understand why my childhood friend and I only write letters and never, never phone or e-mail except in emergencies. Why I almost always cook from scratch. Why I print pictures and put them in scrapbooks with the accompanying ticket stubs and maps so I can recapture the experience later. Technology has not improved the experience of everything.
I am going to go to the basement and re-visit what remains of our vast record collection. I can't remember if my brother took all of his original Beetle albums. Also I will try to send you a grainy, slightly blurred picture of 4 men taken over 30 years ago (you know them all) and you can compare it to the other picture you liked so much.

Loved this post, Sierra. Great juxtaposition between visual and musical art and how the flaws of both provide you with inspiration. You are amazing.
